The state of Colorado does not regulate the practice of naturopathic doctors.
Dr. Schor and Dr. Bloom, both past presidents of the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CoAND), brought five bills to regulate the practice of naturopathic doctors to the Colorado General Assembly between 1992 and 2008. None of the bills passed, as the legislature did not find a need to regulate the scope of practice of naturopathic doctors in Colorado.
Drs. Bloom and Schor maintain active licenses to practice naturopathic medicine in Oregon. The licenses are renewed annually and require 40 hours of board approved continuing education per year.
