Legislative Help Wanted

Subject: sign up to help pass naturopathic legislation

As many of you know Rena and I have been deeply involved in our professional association for naturopathic doctors in Colorado for the last 14 years.  I served as president during most of the 1990's while Rena was legislative chair. During that time we brought three bills to regulate naturopathic practice to the State Legislature. Unfortunately, none of them passed.

Rena and I have traded roles now.  She is now president of the state
association and I am legislative chair.

Once again we are preparing a bill to regulate the naturopathic profession. We need help and in the past many of you have graciously offered to write and call your legislators on our behalf.

This time around we have some neat new technology.  We are using CapWiz, a web based legislative grassroots technology that may make it much easier to help.  With this technology we can keep track of  'volunteers' by legislative district automatically.  Some of you may remember how we used to have legislative maps tacked on the office walls.  We will now be able to contact you easily via email. This way we can fine tune our requests for aid, asking you only to
write or email exactly when the time is right. We are now talking about writing via email for the most part.  Most legislators (though amazingly not all) use computers.  
We cannot sign you up on this site ourselves.  You will have to do it
yourself if you would like to help.
